After installing the Indica appliance, the following things need to be configured to enable Indica to connect to the network and enable the users to use the interface.

Prerequisites and tips

  1. A user (e.g. "indica") with rights to bind to the LDAP or AD and read-only rights to all the shares.



    Normal users will only see everything based on their own security level.



  2. A DNS entry (A-record) that points to the appliance (e.g. "search.domain"). This URL can be communicated to the users.

  3. On smartphones, the URL can be saved to the homescreen, which enables the user to immediately open the search engine.
